Sara Lynn Corprew, alumna of Chancellor University can testify to the value of networking through volunteering. Her year and a half of service-oriented work garnered her an offer to become the INROADS Manager of the Pittsburgh North Central Market! When she lost her job at KeyBank in August of 2008, after almost six years of service to the organization, she began her networking. During that time she was a volunteer for Towards Employment as a employment consultant conducting mock interviews; Dress for Success as a dresser; and INROADS as a facilitator for their Learning Summit in June of 2009, as a favor to her Sorority Sister. At the Learning Summit, she relates that she had the golden opportunity to meet the Regional Director and Regional Coordinator. Shortly after that her Sorority Sister was offered a position in Japan at a University as a recruiter, but before she left the country she put Sara’s resume in front of the Regional Director. The Regional Director gave Sara a pre-screening over the phone in July and eventually offered her the position. Tenacity, focus, and goal-setting – the marks of Chancellor University graduates! Congratulations, Sara!
